I think of every space as a microcosm of society. The people who gather in it, whether for a night, a season, or a single moment, form something real while they're there.

My work is about designing the conditions for connection to happen — the acoustics, the materiality, the flow, the light. All of it can make a room full of strangers feel like a community, a festival field feel like home, a nightclub feel like the only place worth being.

My thinking always starts from the same questions: what do we want the audience to feel, and how can we connect with them emotionally. It's about understanding the audience's perspective and then building the experience around that.

I think the most successful spaces make people connect with each other and with the world around them. Spaces where the nervous system drops, where people relax, leave the head and enter the body.
